(Not Working Now) Download songs from Spotify web player for free

Spotify have launched a web based player (Unity Dash Interface), now it have in beta. You can access the Web-Spotify via this link. This guide will show you how to download Spotify to .mp3 files with an easy to use Firefox Add-on!
Open Spotify


Login with your account!

Step 1: Open Firefox addons and install  Cache Viewer Continued

Step 2: Then play your favorite songs in Spotify web player

Step 3: Open the cache viewer addon and look for audio files

Step 4: Right click on the file name a save as .ogg or .mp3 file with song name.

Step 5: Enjoy playing your song offline in 160kbs for free!

    1. You can do this download trick in any operating system that supports Firefox (MAC, Windows, All GNU/LINUX, Unix, Solaris, BSD and more)! In my case I was used Ubuntu (A rock solid GNU/Linux operating system).

  5. I cant get it like a mp3 or ogg file... i cant even choose what file i whould prefer to save it as.

    1. Save the audio file from cache viewer to .mp3 file extension instead of default .html, It should work. Watch the above video carefully if you have still doubts!

    1. Yes, something is changed! All songs are playing well but no details stored, but the cover art and some google data stored locally after each song played!

  7. I've found you can still do it with Pandora, less predictable for the songs, but still nice.

    1. Yes, but sound quality is not good as Spotify! Moreover this trick works with some more streaming sites.

  8. Audio/mpeg files aren't showing up on my cacheviewer. Am I doing something wrong? I let the song completely finish and I've tried several times!

    1. Sorry for late the reply, this trick may not work now because they(Spotify) fixed the spot! I will report here if I found another way, someone below suggested another way but I do not understand what he/she talk about.
